The NHS Helps people to quit smoking

New figures have shown that the cost to the NHS of helping smokers to quit has risen by a quarter, with each successful quitter costing the taxpayer £219.This compares to £173 over the same period in 2007/08 and £160 in 2006/07. While critics have said this shows money is being wasted, health officials have hit back with the claim that smokers are growing harder to help.The figure for smoking
